Academic biography
Dr Linda Adams is a musicologist and lecturer in the School of Theology, Philosophy, & Music. She holds a PhD in Music Cognition from DCU, an MPhil in Music and Media Technology, and undergraduate qualifications in Jazz Performance and in Electronic Engineering. Her research explores the intersections between music, technology, and psychology, with a focus on computational techniques for modelling the ways in which music is perceived and processed by musicians and non-musicians. She has published on methods of MIDI humanisation and generative composition in MaxMSP, on object-based audio, and on music cognition, and has presented at conferences in Ireland and internationally. Linda teaches modules in Music Cognition, Music Technology, Aural Training, and Harmony.
