The Body Project is an evidence-based group program designed to increase body acceptance and body positivity, while decreasing risk factors for the development of eating disorders. Each session builds the skills and knowledge key to resisting societal and cultural pressures of the appearance ideal. The program provides a forum for students to confront unrealistic appearance ideals while developing healthy body image and self esteem. Research has shown that the Body Project is effective in increasing body satisfaction, while decreasing negative mood, unhealthy dieting and disordered eating.
Please note the time commitment associated with this programme: participants must be available to attend all four sessions and will be expected to actively participate in each session, plus complete take-home tasks.
