Speaker Series - 2023 | Centre for Talented Youth Ireland

The CTYI Summer Speakers Series is an annual event hosted on DCU’s St Patrick’s campus by DCU’s Centre for Talented Youth. It sees former students of the programme come back to DCU to speak about their time in CTYI, their careers and to connect with the current class.

Sally Hayden

Sally Hayden is an award-winning journalist, photographer and author.

She has worked with many news organisations including Vice, CNN, The Financial Times, TIME, BBC, The Washington Post, The Irish Times, The Guardian, Newsweek, The New York Times, Magnum Photos, Channel 4 News, NBC News and The Sunday Times. 

Sally has a law degree from University College Dublin and an MSc in international politics from Trinity College Dublin. Her first book, My Fourth Time, We Drowned: Seeking Refuge on the World’s Deadliest Migration Route, was published in 2022. Her second book, This Is Also a Love Story, will be published in 2026.
