PGAC committee members
The Head of PGAC this year is Jack Biddulph from Prof. Mary Pryce's group. His research focuses on photocatalysts for hydrogen generation.
Ciara Tobin from Dr Susan Kelleher’s group will be our secretary this year. Her research is on electrospinning polymer membranes for water filtration that are both antibacterial and antibiofouling.
On the treasury side of things we have Caoilte O' Rourke O' Currín from Dr Mercedes Vazquez's Group. His project focuses on the development of microfluidic sensor platforms for detection of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
Our public relations officer is Roisín Byrne. Her research with Dr Loanda Cumba’s group looks at the development of functional 3D-printable advanced bioinks for pathogen detection.
This years legacy member is Ryan Madden. His research with Prof. Tia Keyes looks at the synthesis and photophysical characterization of luminescent metal complexes for theranostic applications. In October 2023, Ryan left the committee to enable him to focus on his research.
