Undergraduate Overview

The School of Chemical Sciences at DCU offers a range of innovative and industry-relevant undergraduate degrees designed to prepare students for careers in pharmaceuticals, environmental science, biotechnology, and emerging areas like chemistry with AI. Our programmes combine strong theoretical foundations with hands-on laboratory experience and opportunities for work placement. Degrees include Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Science, Environmental Science and Technology, and Chemistry with Artificial Intelligence. Chemical Sciences General Entry allows students to enter a chemistry degree, choosing their major at the end of their first year.

All courses are applied for through the CAO (Central Applications Office), and applicants are encouraged to have strong backgrounds in Chemistry and Maths. Full entry requirements and course codes are available on the DCU website. Staff in the School also teach DCU's BSc in Science and Maths Education and BSc in Physical Education and Biology courses.
