Reflections on 30 years of research on educational inequality in Ireland, Professor Emer Smyth

Professor Emer Smyth, ESRI (Economic and Social Research Institute) and Trinity College Dublin gave a presentation Reflections on 30 years of research on educational inequality in Ireland, at a meeting for DCU Educational Disadvantage Centre’s postgraduate students and members on June 17, 2025. Doctoral student Melissa Lynch also gave a presentation, More Than Meets the Eye: Seeing Beyond What's Right in Front of You, while M.Ed graduates with the Centre, Megan Wynne and Rose Duffy also presented to the Centre’s postgraduate students on their respective theses, Teachers’ experiences and perceptions of the students in their classroom experiencing bereavement in a Dublin DEIS primary school, 'The kids do be delighted when you come in like': An Exploration of Parental Views of Their Involvement in Their Children's Early Years and Primary Schooling.as well as on their experience of writing a thesis.
