About Teaching Reflections

Read the December 2010 Edition of Teaching Reflections

Through our work in the LIU we are continuously reminded of the importance of reflection on practice and the benefits of testing new ideas and methodologies to develop teaching practice and enhance learning. We are also conscious of creating opportunities to share learning experiences and to learn from each other. A wealth of teaching experience and ideas exists in DCU, that if tapped into could prove a valuable source of learning for us all.

As a means to share teaching and learning knowledge and experiences in DCU, the LIU publishes a biannual communication Teaching Reflections offering updates on teaching and learning activities, experiences and practical learning based on the activities of the LIU and academic and support staff in DCU.

Article types include, but are not limited to:

• Reviews: books, resources, software, teaching methodologies and conferences (maximum 1000 words).
• Sharing from practice – Teaching tips and ideas (maximum 800 words). This section offers the reader short teaching tips and ideas.
• Feature articles (maximum 1500 - 2000 words). Longer articles on a specific teaching or learning theme, project or case study.
