President's Breakfast

President's Reunion Breakfast

DCU graduate and chair of our Alumni Council James Corcoran writes about a recent reunion breakfast he enjoyed with university President Dáire Keogh and some of his classmates.

It was a great pleasure to host four of my former classmates (BBS 1990) for breakfast with DCU President, Prof. Dáire Keogh in the President’s boardroom in the Albert College building recently. As Chair of the Alumni Council it is important to me to find ways of brining graduates and the university together to explore mutual benefit.

This breakfast was also attend Laura Mahoney, Executive Director of Engagement, Ross Munnelly, Director of Alumni Relations and Jason Sherlock, Director Of Development, DCU Educational Trust. The breakfast provided an opportunity for myself and my fellow graduates to hear from Dáire in relation to current challenges and opportunities facing the university and for us to share our thoughts and ideas on engagement with him, the Alumni Office and the Educational Trust.

It never ceases to amaze me how, even after 30 plus years, the bond between graduates and the university can remain so strong. The positive impact DCU has had on shaping our work ethos and careers is constant and we often discuss this in our meetups. I very much hope that this will be the first of many such breakfasts and meeting and look forward to the next one!
