Digital Accessibility Conference - 26 June 2024

DCU is supporting the Digital Accessibility Conference 2024, which is led by University of Nottingham. A comprehensive conference programme is available. As a distributed online conference, participants have the opportunity to engage individually or participate via a local hub.

DCU will host a local hub in Room DG10 in the Bea Orpen Building on 26 June, the day of the conference, where staff can gather to participate in the conference together. If you would like to attend the conference via this local hub, email teaching.enhancement@dcu.ie

If you wish to attend the conference individually, you can do so by registering directly with the conference.

GenAI Sessions

Following on from our workshops this past semester,  we will, in the coming months. offer opportunities for staff to very practically consider one or more of their assessments and how it might be impacted by GenAI (either from a design in or design out perspective). Participants in these sessions will experience a demo of selected GenAI tools and an opportunity to use them in the context of one of their assessments. These sessions will be in person and we will initially run five sessions (one per Faculty) in the last week of August. As they will be in person, places may be limited but we will then assess the need for a further run.

We will disseminate more detailed information soon, but in the meantime, should you have any questions, please contact samantha.xu@dcu.ie or martina.crehan@dcu.ie.

Where to find help and support

If you require assistance or guidance with teaching and learning or Loop related matters, avail of the below methods.

Support for technical issues

For Loop technical queries, log a ticket through the ISS ticketing system. You can also attend one of our regular online Loop drop in clinics, details in the TEU calendar. The drop in clinics are particularly useful for more complex queries. The Loop Staff Support Page also provides a comprehensive range of resources on Loop and Zoom. For new users, the enrolment key for this page is ‘staff’.

Advice on using technology for Teaching and Learning

If you are looking for advice on developing your teaching practice, including but not limited to the application of technology, please contact the TEU team teaching.enhancement@dcu.ie. We will endeavour to respond to you as soon as possible.
