TEU Update March 20 2025

Two nourishing presentations will be served at the second installment of the current MoodleMunch webinar series, taking place Tuesday 25 March, 13:00-14:00.
Dr Patricia Flynn and Bláithín Duggan from the School of Theology, Philosophy and Music will showcase their excellent work in scaffolding their students to develop academic skills for success, using a variety of Loop tools. Our external speaker, David Sweeney, eLearning Manager at the GAA, will showcase the Association’s use of Moodle to provide targeted training to players, coaches and parents across the country.
You can register to attend via Zoom.

The March and April sessions of the Community of Practice have been announced.
· On Thursday March 27th at 2 pm Professor Sebastian Bakalarczyk, Lodz University of Technology, will pose the problem of how to Effectively design challenges within Blended Intensive Programmes to maximise learning. To attend, please register and a meeting link will be forwarded.
· On Thursday April 24th at 2pm Professor Charlotte Norrman from Linköping University will present the issue of Doing Challenge Based Learning with Large Numbers. To attend, please register and a meeting link will be forwarded
In these events, participants follow the Reflective Team approach: a ‘Presenter’ illustrates a sticky issue and asks the “Team” for help with a specific question; the “Team” reflect on the case, sharing their own experiences, making suggestions for actions and concrete proposals to address the issue, the Presenter listens but does not join in the discussion; during the “Debrief” the Presenter identifies which proposals they might implement in their next CBL experience. As one of our recent presenters commented:
“The discussion with the participants was very relevant and provided me with a lot of material to further reflect on.”

The DCU Climate Emergency and Sustainability exhibition has made its way down to the St Pat’s campus in Drumcondra. It can be viewed in the corridor in front of the library until April 4th.

On Wednesday March 19th we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our students in the Loop Reflect Student Showcase & Awards. This event highlights the creativity, dedication, and hard work that students have put into showcasing their learning journeys.
A huge congratulations to the winners:

Congratulations to each and every one of the entrants, we received a large number of outstanding portfolios, making the selection process extremely competitive. Many thanks to all involved in the awards including the judging panel, the TEU team, Dr Monica Ward and Aoife Butler.
