Poetry Day Ireland Competition 25th April

DCU Library is celebrating Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 25th April with a poetry competition. Post an original poem on Instagram or Twitter on this year's #PoetryDayIRL theme of 'good sports' and tag us to win a €30 book token.

DCU Library's Poetry Day Ireland Competition

Poetry Day Ireland is taking place on Thursday 25th April this year and the theme for this year is 'Good Sports.'

 

We're running a poetry competition that's open to DCU Staff and students to celebrate the day. 

 

Be in to win a €30 book token - all you have to do is write a short poem that links in to this year's theme, post it on Instagram or Twitter and tag us!

 

Post your orginal sonnet, haiku, ballad, limerick or free verse poem on Instagram (tagging @dcu_library) or on Twitter (tagging @DCULIB) by midnight on Wednesday 24th April and the winner will be announced on Thursday 25th April.

Poetry Day Ireland 2024

Poetry Day Ireland is an annual island-wide celebration of poetry which invites the nation to read, write, and share a poem on the day.  

Their theme for this year is “Good Sports” celebrating the good sport in all of us, the drive to give it a go or to have a crack at it in all aspects of our lives.
